Steph-Esther O. Mekwuye finished her primary education a 'head girl' with seven distinctions. At age 9 she was admitted into a famous girl’s college where she held a post as social prefect and  graduated with A's and C's. She was on her way to study law. That was not to be, as she lost her father that same year.

In her teenage years She taught English and literature her favourite subjects in college at a primary school.  She was noted as the youngest staff and the tallest around her teaching colleagues. At 5ft 10 inches tall, Steph was urged to have a taste of  the fashion catwalk industry. She entered the  face of Africa competition without a clue. However, this  was the beginning of a modelling career that took her to various continents including Africa, Asia, America and Europe.

In 2001 she represented the NFS in Paris and Milan. On the 16th of October 2006 Steph organised a charity fashion show for fair trade  to create awareness. this show attracted guest beyond expectations and was subsequently aired on the BBC. She also  gave a speech along side CBE Harriet Lamb, Executive Director of the Fair Trade foundation.

In between fashion modelling, she managed to keep a focus on her academics. A’ levels at the College of Arts and Science, the Chartered Institute of Administration, Writer's Bureau Manchester, and a curious colour psychology course in London. Steph later  went back to find her first love… ‘law’. She studied law at a UK University and according to her she finds joy dealing with the intellectual challenges the subject brings. 'I enjoy the work of the brain'. She has had the opportunity to experience work with various law firms, including commercial, comparative, EU human rights and competition law, to mention a few. She was also the Lexis Nexis representative at her University and was retained to represent the company for two years. On successful completion of her LLB law degree, Steph was awarded the Paris Smith prize for best dissertation in Law 2009.

Steph's latest project has been in the production of a documentary on Bryant Park as a venue for the MB New York Fashion Week, in which Steph was involved in interviewing top fashion designers including Dona Karan of DKNY, Carolina Herrera, Max Azria, Betsy Johnson, Catherine Malandrino and Custo of Custo Barcelona, amongst others.
